About the project

I identified an opportunity to create a more engaging and effective gym experience for users. There are numerous apps that provide a wide range of features so building another can sound like a bad idea. However, I wanted to create an app that is focused on the user experience and usability - something that was missing on the market. I did a thorough research, interviewed gym-goers and designed an app that combines workout tracking, workout plans and social aspects inspired by Strava.

Learnings

I gained an understanding of the importance of thorough research and quick prototyping. I also learned that it is important to have a clear vision of the product and the user needs.

About the project

I have co-founded Moje Stravování in 2020 with my friends. It has been a web app for the first 3 years and in early 2024 we made a decision to build a brand new mobile app. With supervision from Petr Ševcovic I've created a brand new design system in Figma and designed an entirely new mobile experience with it.

I've deepened my knowledge of Figma and learned to utilise design systems to create a consistent and user-friendly experience.

About

I'm a strong believer in open-source software. While building Moje Stravování, I noticed a lack of open-source tooling for server-side receipt validation from Google Play and the App Store. With only a few large commercial players in the market (RevenueCat, Adapty), I saw an opportunity to build an open-source solution focused on React Native that could be integrated with a single npx command and easy for AI to use.

About the project

As my final project I've investigated the feasibility of building a Google Play and App Store receipt tracking and product analytics tool that is fully automated and operates in realtime. I've designed a prototype of the product and built a proof of concept, all while testing it and iterating potential users.

Learnings

Building a product in a timeframe of 13 weeks was a great experience. With the limited resources I had to iterate quickly, learn to test raw ideas and let go of the fear of rejection and failure.
